Civil Resilience

How this site is kept accurate

One person, by hand. No badges, no percentages.

What you can rely on

Every page carries a “Last updated” date. That is the date the page’s text last changed. A page also carries a “Reviewed” date only when a person has read the whole page against the sources it lists on that day. A page with no reviewed date has not had that read.

Sources

Pages name their sources: legislation.gov.uk for the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and its regulations, GOV.UK and the Be Ready campaign for household advice and the responder guidance, the Cabinet Office list for local resilience forums, the Met Office and the Environment Agency for warnings, and the official page for every telephone number. Where a source says less than this page does, the source wins.

The monthly check

Once a month the site is checked against the official pages it relies on. The Be Ready pages, the GOV.UK resilience guidance and the local resilience forum list are re-read for changes; legislation.gov.uk is checked for amendments to every Act and instrument the site cites; every forum website and community risk register link is fetched; every telephone number is read again from its official page; and every link on the site is tested. Changes are made by hand and shipped by the editor, never automatically.

What the site will not do

It will not tell you what to do in an emergency that is happening now. It explains what the official sources say, and it points you to them. In an emergency call 999.

Reporting an error

If you find something wrong, the contact page explains how to report it. Say which page and what the source says.
